The Oxford Kyudo Society is a private voluntary body established to promote the practice of Kyudo - the traditional art of the Japanese bow.
We are a member of the United Kingdom Kyudo Association (UKKA) and are open to all who have an interest in Japanese traditional culture and in a practical way wish to take on the challenge and demands that Kyudo has to offer.
Kyudo is not simply archery. It is the art of finding the relationship between the bow, the body, and the spirit and uniting it into an harmonious whole. To balance all these elements in the shooting situation makes Kyudo both demanding and challenging.
